The material is recycled acrylic, chosen deliberately over wool: it does not scratch, does not shrink in the wash, and dries fast. In Israel, where it is genuinely cold for only part of the year, a heavy wool throw ends up in the cupboard rather than in use.
Most people use a throw for how it looks rather than for warmth. Folded loosely over the arm of a sofa or across the end of a bed, it breaks up a flat surface and adds depth. Fold it in thirds rather than in half for that.
Machine wash at 30 degrees and dry flat. Skip the tumble dryer — acrylic stretches.
